David Wilson was born in the United Kingdom. He arrived in South Africa in the 1970’s and was educated in Cape Town. He has always had an interest in wildlife, a passion that started on a three day visit to the Kruger National Park in 1986.
David has been a guide for the last 13 years in South Africa, Botswana, Mozambique, Swaziland and Zimbabwe. He has worked in both private and national parks conducting safaris and tours, managing lodges and training staff and rangers. He has also run his own tour and safari company and was involved in voluntary conservation work in the Pilanesberg Game Reserve.
Returning from London after a five year absence in the 1990’s David studied nature conservation through the North West Parks Board and achieved a Prestige Diploma of Game Ranging and Lodge Management.
He was awarded the Nedbank trophy for the best game ranging student.
He has a passion for mammal predators, photography, ornithology and sports.
